This month Christchurch branch is pleased to welcome Steve Wilson, Group Loss Prevention manager for Smiths City.to speak about Loss Prevention or “Shrinkage”
Steve is responsible for preventing loss to the business caused by deliberate or inadvertent human actions, colloquially known as shrinkage.
Steve is an experienced retailer, having worked a number of years as a ‘Big Box’ Store Manager for both Kmart and The Warehouse. He has also spent 14 years as a Loss Prevention Manager for The Warehouse Group and then joined Smiths City last July. One of the stores that Steve was responsible for at The Warehouse had an annual apprehension rate of over 900 shoplifters a year. The most in any retail store in New Zealand! He also spent about five years as a member of the Loss Prevention Advisory Group run by the NZ Retailers Association, where retailers could collectively bring their concerns forward to both Police HQ and Government.
