Description

(PLEASE NOTE THIS HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE) from 9:00am-12:00pm (Chancellor 2, James Cook Hotel, 147 The Terrace, Wellington)

Despite the Personal Properties Securities Act 1999 (PPSA) having been in effect since 2002, there is still confusion about the rights that Personal Properties Securities Register (PPSR) registered creditors have when a debtor enters into a formal insolvency process such as liquidation or receivership.  As a creditor, your position will depend on your terms of trade and its contractual rights along with a registration on the PPSR.

This workshop will focus on how to best to protect yourself using the PPSR. You will hear from a range of speakers along the entire credit process including a speaker from the Companies Office addressing the technical aspects of the PPSR. Knowing important features of the PPSR and learning how to navigate it effectively will assist in enabling your business to have more robust credit management processes. During this workshop you will learn how the PPSR can help you:

  • Best protect your security interest and position as a creditor
  • Managing your risk during the course of the trading relationship
  • Maximising your recovery in an insolvency event and your options

The panel speakers for this workshop are:

  • Steven Khov – Director and CA ANZ Accredited Insolvency Practitioner, Khov Jones
  • James Cochrane – Partner, Stace Hammond
  • Siri Koripa – Credit Manager, Hafele
  • Anitha Konakanchi – Senior Technical Services Advisor, PPSR

This is a must attend event if you are involved in credit control, managing trade creditors, registering security interests on the PPSR or want to know how to better protect your interests when advancing credit.

As a one-time offer, NZCFI, while discounting the fee for the workshop attendance, is also offering a free 12- month membership valued at $155 (plus GST) which entitles members to attend the lectures, workshops, conference and other events of NZCFI on various topics of credit and finance at special member rates, to those who register for this PPSR workshop.
